Introduction
VIRGO Planning and Evaluation Consultants Inc. (VIRGO) provides specialized consultation and technical services related to program and policy development, evaluation, mental health and substance use systems planning, and performance measurement. VIRGO’s business model involves a core team of consultants as well as dedicated and experienced project management and administrative staff to support the planning and successful execution of all phases of a project.
What is the scope of VIRGO Services?
We offer consultation and technical services in four inter-connected areas:
Health System Analysis and Needs-Based Planning
Guided by a set of evidence-informed principles, we assess the current strengths and gaps within mental health and/or substance use treatment and support services and systems and provide recommendations to improve quality outcomes and overall return on investment.
Program Evaluation and Performance Measurement
We employ a wide range of evaluation and performance measurement methods to inform quality improvement and accountability. Our approach is guided by close engagement with relevant stakeholders, including decision-makers and people with lived/living experience, to ensure that results are relevant, actionable and impactful.
Evidence Reviews and Synthesis
Using state-of-the art bibliographic search tools and consultative methods, we synthesize both quantitative and qualitative evidence in the health and public health domains. Results are conveyed in technical and/or lay language depending on client needs.
Knowledge Exchange and Implementation Science
Our team is committed to work that has an impact. That’s why we embed a focus on knowledge exchange in all projects, regardless of their scope or focus. We also draw upon our expertise in Implementation Science to support clients in bridging the gap between evidence and action.
